WESC – 30 May 2012

dsc2997Come ‘celebrate’ the re-election of Boris Johnson at the next WESC, a man who needs plenty of reminders about the presence of powered two wheelers in London, judging by his pre-election Transport Manifesto, which seemed to skirt over the other group of two-wheeled vulnerable road users.

With motorcycles and scooters now allowed in bus lanes within Westminster, the parking tax looks more and more out of touch with the increasing realisation that p2w’s are part of the solution to the daily transport chaos of our capital city.

The changes to bus lanes are a step in the right direction, but until Westminster stops charging people to park in their borough, it’s hard to tell whether they are trying to encourage or discourage the congestion-busting mode of transport we all choose to ride.

We meet, as ever, from 5pm at Villiers Street.

NTBPT Annual M25 Run

Once again, we will be holding our annual tour of the M25.

Details are still being finalised, but for the time being, put Saturday 23 June 2012 in your diaries.

More details to follow soon.

WESC – 25 April 2012

With the Mayoral elections fast approaching, our next protest will be the last chance to drum home the message that motorcycles and scooters are part of the solution to congestion in our city.

It’s become increasingly clear how loudly this message needs to shouted, with the candidates for election completely ignoring motorcycles and scooters in their manifestos, even in the transport sections!

Turn out was fantastic last month, so lets keep the ball rolling and the pressure on.  We meet, as usual, at Villiers Street from 5pm, departing at 6pm for the streets of London.  Check the forum for more info: here

See you on Wednesday!
